By Neil Adler
Syracuse football coaches are piling up official visit after official visit scheduled for the month of June for a variety of 2023 commits and recruiting targets.
One of the latest to become public is from talented 2023 offensive lineman Deandre Duffus. According to his bio on the 247Sports Web site, the 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect out of Florida will take an official visit to the Hill on June 17.
Per 247Sports, the three-star Duffus will also travel to UCF on June 10 and to Indiana on June 24.
According to 247Sports and his Twitter page, Duffus received a scholarship offer from the Orange on April 11.
Syracuse football appears to be firmly in the mix for three-star OL Deandre Duffus.
As a member of the 2023 class, Duffus this fall will be heading into his senior season for Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in Hollywood, Fla.
In reviewing his Twitter account as well as recruiting Web sites, it looks like Duffus has earned more than 20 offers from a range of high-major squads, including Colorado, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Texas A&M, N.C. State, UCF, Temple and USF.
For what it’s worth, there is one prediction in the direction of Indiana for Duffus on the 247Sports Web site, although that projection was logged in mid-April.
As far as his rankings go, Duffus checks in at No. 966 overall via the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, along with the No. 85 offensive tackle and the No. 133 player in Florida.
Over at the industry-generated On3 Consensus, Duffus is rated No. 1038 nationwide, No. 108 at interior offensive lineman and No. 149 in Florida.
Besides Duffus, there are numerous other 2023 prospects making official visits to the Orange next month. Three-star quarterback commit LaNorris Sellers is visiting on June 24, while tight end/defensive end commit David Clement is coming to the Hill on June 17.
Among the recruiting targets planning to visit on June 17 are three-star linebacker Zyian Moultrie-Goddard and edge Jalil Smith, while three-star offensive lineman Eric King will travel to Syracuse football on June 24.
