It’s Senior Day for the Orange, as the team will honor senior shooting guard Buddy Boeheim, graduate student forward Jimmy Boeheim, graduate student center Bourama Sidibe, senior forward Cole Swider and others on the roster.

That being said, it doesn’t appear 100 percent certain that all four of these guys will be departing the ‘Cuse after the 2021-22 stanza is over, despite several recent rounds of comments from Syracuse basketball head coach Jim Boeheim.

Swider, for one, has said that he’s keeping various options open, including a possible return to the Orange for another term. Regardless, we have a lot of admiration, appreciation and respect for the squad’s seniors and grad students, and I’m sure Saturday will prove an emotional day for the Boeheim family, in particular.

On the court, the ‘Cuse (15-15, 9-10) is hoping to avoid its first losing season under Jim Boeheim in his 46 years leading this program. After the Orange’s collision with the Hurricanes (21-9, 13-6), Syracuse basketball will head to Brooklyn, N.Y., next week for the 2022 ACC Tournament.

Miami has proven a really pleasant surprise in the ACC in 2021-22. Both the Hurricanes and the Orange have highly efficient offenses, and I expect a lot of offensive firepower in this conference clash.

My head tells me that Miami will likely prevail here, however, with the Boeheim brothers presumably suiting up in the Carrier Dome for potentially the last occasion, I’m going to go with my heart in predicting that the ‘Cuse will upset the Hurricanes this Saturday in the regular-season finale.
