When 247Sports recently published its first national rankings for the 2024 cycle, that recruiting service only doled out five stars to eight high-school prospects in this class, and several of these players are being pursued by Syracuse basketball coaches.

One of those to make the five-star cut is Vyctorius Miller, who is deemed either a shooting guard or a small forward depending on the recruiting service and suits up on the west coast. The 6-5 Miller is a sophomore out of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, Calif.

As we’ve noted in other recent columns, several media reports that I’ve come across of late, in addition to recruiting services, are indicating that the Orange coaching staff is showing interest in Miller.

We’ll obviously continue to monitor any and all involvement that the ‘Cuse has in Miller’s recruiting process. For now, we’re going to take a look at his latest national ratings.

Syracuse basketball will face stiff competition for five-star Vyctorius Miller.

In the 247Sports national rankings of the top-80 players in the 2024 class, Miller came in at not only five stars, but also No. 5 nationwide, No. 4 at shooting guard and No. 2 in California.

At least for the time being, it appears that the recruiting analysts at 247Sports are a tad more bullish on Miller than other recruiting Web sites.

Rivals.com and ESPN both also recently updated their own 2024 national ratings. Rivals.com has Miller at No. 10 overall, while ESPN places him at No. 15 nationally.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite placed Miller as five stars and No. 9 nationwide, along with the No. 4 shooting guard and the No. 3 prospect in California.

According to his Twitter page, one of Miller’s more recent scholarship offers arrived from UCLA, which made the Final Four during the 2021 NCAA Tournament and has been a mainstay in the top-25 polls in the current stanza.

Other offers for Miller, per media reports and recruiting services, have come in from teams such as Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest and Ole Miss. The Orange and Oregon, among others, are also displaying interest in this stellar 2024 player.

Obviously, the number of top-flight suitors is going to increase throughout Miller’s recruitment. Syracuse basketball has landed recruits from the west coast over the years, so it will be interesting to see whether the ‘Cuse emerges as a formidable contender for Miller.
