Syracuse basketball has entered into the recruiting mix for an elite shooting guard in the sophomore class.

According to various media reports, Orange coaches are getting involved in the recruitment of 2024 five-star Vyctorius Miller, who is one of the best all-around prospects in his cycle and plays high-school ball on the west coast.

The 6-5 Miller, listed as either a shooting guard or a small forward depending on the recruiting service, is a sophomore out of Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, Calif.

Although his recruiting process likely has a way to go, Miller is already racking up scholarship offers and interest from a bevy of high-major programs.

Let’s take a closer look at Syracuse basketball five-star target Vyctorius Miller.

Besides the ‘Cuse, Miller holds interest from teams such as Oregon and UCLA. His offers, to date, include from Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest and Ole Miss, according to reports and recruiting Web sites.

I’d expect many more impressive offers to arrive for Miller in the near future. Multiple recruiting services rank him in the top-10 across the country within the 2024 class.

Rivals.com, for one, rates Miller as a five-star shooting guard and the No. 8 prospect nationally in his cycle. ESPN has him as a five-star small forward, No. 8 overall and No. 5 at his position.

"Rob Cassidy, the basketball recruiting director for Rivals.com, said in a recent article on Miller, “Expect more heavy hitters to get involved down the road, but getting involved early may play well for schools such as Kansas, Syracuse and UCLA.”"

The Orange and other teams across the country are just beginning to get into full gear with their recruiting efforts for the 2024 cycle. Already, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered several big-time players in this class.

The ‘Cuse 2024 offers include to five-star power forward Derik Queen, a top-five prospect who attends the powerhouse Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.; five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau out of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., who is the nation’s No. 1 PG, per some recruiting services; and four-star power forward Donnie Freeman, a top-25 player from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C.
