The ‘Cuse (5-5, 2-4) was dreadful on both sides of the field in a 41-3 setback to the Cardinals (5-5, 3-4), and it doesn’t get any easier for our beloved boys in Orange. Next up is a trip to No. 25 N.C. State, as the ‘Cuse and the Wolfpack will clash on Saturday, Nov. 20, from Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.

Throughout the course of the 2021 season, N.C. State has proven a top-four squad in the ACC. Case in point, even though the Wolfpack (7-3, 4-2) fell in its most recent meeting, it was by a final count of 45-42 at Wake Forest (9-1, 6-0), which is the league’s premier team during the current term.

N.C. State has multiple solid wins in 2021, including over Clemson, at Boston College and at Florida State. The Wolfpack’s three defeats have all been on the road, as N.C. State is undefeated at home so far in 2021.

That doesn’t bode well for the Orange, which kept things close versus the Wolfpack a year ago, losing by a 36-29 margin on the Hill.

It’s plain and simple. The Orange needs one win over its final two ACC encounters to become bowl eligible. I’m usually an optimist, but with a road battle with N.C. State, and a home match-up with Pittsburgh, I think that it’s going to be really tough for the ‘Cuse to notch that sixth success.

Yes, N.C. State lost its most recent game, however, it was on the road by three points to Wake Forest, which has been the best team in the conference during the 2021 stanza. As such, I’m taking the Wolfpack to knock off the Orange.
