Chris Bunch, a 2022 four-star wing, recently gave his verbal commitment to Syracuse basketball, and multiple national recruiting analysts and scouts are raving about his skill-set, particularly on the offensive end of the court.

The 6-foot-7 Bunch, a senior at the powerhouse Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, is a top-60 player in his cycle, according to 247Sports. He picked the Orange over Mike Hopkins-led Washington and Rutgers.

I perused a ton of comments regarding Bunch’s game from a variety of experts, and I wanted to pass along some of the things for which these pundits are praising Bunch.

First and foremost, Bunch is considered one of the best perimeter shooters throughout the entire 2022 class. He is proficient at scoring not only from beyond the arc, but also in the mid-range as well as driving to the rim.

Syracuse basketball four-star commit Chris Bunch is a sharp-shooting wing.

Though analysts note that Bunch will have to put on some weight, which is not uncommon for high-school prospects, they add that Bunch should thrive in the ‘Cuse system.

He has solid ball-handling skills for a guy of his size, and he’s also a really good passer and a more than credible rebounder. His athleticism and versatility should enable him to suit up at either small forward or power forward in the Orange’s 2-3 zone defense.

ESPN scout/recruiting analyst Adam Finkelstein, in a tweet, said in part that Bunch “has clear long-term potential with positional size, bouncy leaping ability, & a soft 3 ball.”

Said Rivals.com basketball recruiting director Rob Cassidy, “Bunch is a composed offensive weapon that has proven able to create his own shot from the inside and beyond the arc.”

Both Cassidy and 247Sports national analyst Brandon Jenkins said that Bunch is not only a talented offensive player, but he also has a sizable amount of upside left to uncover as he continues to develop his all-around game.

"In a piece by CBS Sports’ David Cobb, Jenkins said in part that Bunch is a “smooth big wing at 6-foot-7 who projects as a knock-down three-point shooter at the high major level. Bunch looked most comfortable in catch and shoot situations as he displayed excellent touch when his feet were set.”"
