Syracuse Game Friday: Syracuse vs. Liberty prediction, odds, spread, line, over/under and betting info. for week 4
By Neil Adler
Syracuse football will seek to exact revenge on red-hot Liberty when the teams do battle in a Friday night non-conference encounter on September 24, with kickoff set to commence at 8 pm from the Carrier Dome.
Over the weekend, the Orange got back into the win column by crushing fellow Empire State squad and FCS group Albany, 62-24, on the Hill. The ‘Cuse (2-1) racked up more than 600 yards of total offense, and sophomore running back Sean Tucker proved sensational.
The native of Owings Mills, Md., recorded 100-plus rushing yards and receiving yards, to go along with five total touchdowns. It was nice to see the Orange bounce back after falling to Rutgers in Central New York the week prior, although Syracuse football has absolutely got to clean up the number of penalties that it got flagged for versus Albany.
Next up for the ‘Cuse is Liberty, a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) independent team located in Lynchburg, Va. In 2020, the Flames traveled to the Orange and dominated Syracuse football, 38-21.
During that game, Liberty amassed more than 500 yards of total offense and registered its first-ever victory over an Atlantic Coast Conference program. So far in 2021, the Flames are 3-0, after blowing out Old Dominion at home, 45-17, this past Saturday evening.
For the ‘Cuse (2-1), this match-up with Liberty will wrap up its non-conference docket. If Syracuse football could take down the Flames, the Orange would possess some solid momentum, and a 3-1 record, heading into ACC competition.

Syracuse vs. Liberty prediction for week 4
It’s true that the Orange handled Albany this past Saturday afternoon, however, Liberty is a really good team and presents a huge challenge for the ‘Cuse. The Flames have an explosive offense and aren’t scared of playing groups from Power 5 leagues. I want to pick Syracuse football in this non-conference contest, but I think that Liberty will come into the Dome and beat the Orange, with the final deficit being around seven to 10 points. I hope that I’m wrong, of course!
