Syracuse basketball got in early on with elite 2023 five-star player G.G. Jackson, and his recruitment continues to reflect that the 6-foot-8 power forward is among the hottest prospects across the country in his class.

Jackson is a sophomore at Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., and he runs on the AAU circuit with the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team Cp3.

At the recently held 2021 Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., Jackson performed quite well. National recruiting analysts keep on saying that his stock is soaring, and he could be on his way to consensus five-star status from all of the primary recruiting services.

Once college coaches were able to contact 2023 prospects directly starting in mid-June, Jackson saw his recruiting process absolutely explode.

Recently, some scholarship offers have arrived for him from Atlantic Coast Conference heavyweights Duke and North Carolina, as well as from Florida out of the Southeastern Conference.

Syracuse basketball has stiff competition for five-star target G.G. Jackson.

Additionally, per a tweet from high-school and college basketball writer Jake Lieberman, Jackson is receiving significant interest from Virginia, which is among the best squads in the ACC and won the NCAA tournament in 2019.

The ‘Cuse coaching staff was the first to offer Jackson a scholarship, with that offer occurring back in August of 2020. His other offers include from high-major groups such as Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, N.C. State, Maryland, Georgetown, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and Boston College.

I could absolutely foresee another blue-blood school, Kentucky, getting into the mix for Jackson. At present, he is No. 20 overall in the 2023 cycle according to Rivals.com, No. 24 from the 247Sports Composite, No. 26 at ESPN and No. 34 via 247Sports.

By and large, the recruiting services deem Jackson as a top-five power forward in his class, as well as the No. 1 prospect in South Carolina. In a recent article, 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham wrote that Jackson’s overall game continues to improve.

The Syracuse basketball target has good size and length, he is athletic, Jackson rebounds well, he has a great touch, and he can score with proficiency both down low in the paint as well as from the mid-range, according to Branham and other national analysts.
