Our Syracuse football fan of all fans is having some fun in previewing the Orange game at Ohio.

I’d like to share with you a Syracuse football idea different from what some consider the norm

It’s a preview of each football game this season in poetry form

I hope you like it and don’t find it too corny or find them a bore

Because according to the schedule after, I’ve still got about eleven more

Now Syracuse football opens at Ohio University on September 4th and I’m getting teary

To start the season as part of what they call a home and home series

I know some fans are skeptical after last season, many excited

I truly believe this season the negative aspects will be righted

Playing a MAC team on a Saturday not a Tuesday or a Monday

Did you know one person who attended Ohio was Polk High’s leading rusher Al Bundy?

Ohio has a new head coach this season…his name is Tim Albin

Which means it’s hard to predict but hopefully ‘Cuse can win

Ohio also has a quality running back named De’Montre Tuggle

Which means our rush defense might have quite a struggle

These teams last played each other back in 1921

Syracuse is 2-0 but the Roaring Twenties are done

Tommy DeVito will be out to prove he deserves to start

And Taj Harris could possibly be the all-time leader in yards

I fully expect Coach Dino Babers and staff to be ready for this game

And come in prepared ready to begin 2021 with a bang

The game will be televised at 7 pm on the CBS Sports Network

Or if you can’t watch, stream it on TK99 locally at home or at work

It’s the Orange verse the Bobcats and a battle for pride

And I’m settled in and excited to go along for the ride

This concludes my “Opponent Preview Poem” for week one

See you next time when I’ll preview Rutgers…should be fun.

GO ORANGE!
