Syracuse basketball 2022 high-priority target Kyle Filipowski has performed quite well in AAU competitions of late, including at the 2021 Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C.

The four-star power forward’s recruitment has absolutely exploded, with Duke getting a ton of buzz for the 6-foot-10 Filipowski. Plus, Kentucky, North Carolina and Michigan, among others, recently have entered the mix for him.

Rivals.com national analyst Jamie Shaw had been watching the Peach Jam, put on by Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League. He recently penned an article where he looks at various high-school prospects who could contend for the No. 1 overall rating in the 2022 cycle.

Shaw says that Filipowski has entered that conversation, noting that the Orange prospect is “skilled, tough, fluid and looked dominant most times he was on the floor.”

In a separate piece, 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi writes that Filipowski has put himself into the debate for a five-star ranking.

Bossi echoes Shaw’s comments about Filipowski, saying the elite 2022 big man “continues to ascend the charts thanks to his combination of skill, size and shooting touch. He’s also no slouch when it comes to being a competitor.”

Syracuse basketball four-star target Kyle Filipowski is due for more ranking increases.

As we noted in a recent column, Filipowski is up to No. 20 across the country, according to ESPN. He’s also on the verge of five stars with that recruiting service.

When 247Sports and Rivals.com each updated their national rankings for the 2022 cycle, Filipowski made one of the biggest leaps in both sets of ratings.

At present, he is No. 40 overall via 247Sports, while Rivals.com places him at No. 48 nationwide. Filipowski is also a top-35 player in his class, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

In June, Filipowski took an official visit to the Hill, among other schools. His friend, recent 2022 four-star commit Justin Taylor, has said that he is trying to help recruit Filipowski to join the Syracuse basketball program in the same cycle.

Filipowski is a junior at the Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Mass., and he suits up for the New York City-based NY Renaissance on the AAU circuit. By all accounts, he is one of the hottest prospects nationally in the 2022 class.

Next. Syracuse basketball, despite critics, has proven solid in recent years. dark
