Syracuse basketball 4-star commits, targets crushing things at Peach Jam

Syracuse basketball four-star commits and prospects in the 2022 and 2023 classes are faring well so far as the first few days of the annual Peach Jam tournament transpire, showcasing some of the top high-school players across the country.
We’re going to take a look at some of the team and individual performances of note throughout a variety of games, with basketball.exposureevents.com providing the box scores and statistics.
Central New York native J.J. Starling, a 2022 four-star guard, scored 19 points as his AAU team, the Albany City Rocks, defeated the Boston-based Expressions Elite Basketball, 74-62.
Starling has taken an official visit to the Hill. He’s a junior at the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., and previously starred at Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, N.Y.
Gavin Griffiths, a 2023 four-star wing, was on fire in tallying 25 points for Expressions Elite Basketball in its win over Chicago-based Mac Irvin Fire, 75-57.
Griffiths, a sophomore who attends the Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, Conn., went 8-of-16 shooting from the field, including a stellar 6-of-12 on attempts from beyond the arc.
Kamari Lands, a 2022 four-star wing and Syracuse basketball commit, and 2022 four-star target Chris Bunch both play for the Los Angeles-based Team Why Not, which fell to the Orlando, Fla.-based E1T1 United, 85-76.
In the setback, Lands had 16 points and eight rebounds. Bunch produced 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. Lands is a junior at Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif., while Bunch is a junior at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif.

Chance Westry is a 2022 four-star guard who will play for Hillcrest Prep in Gilbert, Ariz., during his senior year. His AAU group, the New York City-based NY Renaissance, conquered the New Orleans-based LivOn/Fleur De Lis, 68-51.
Westry had 11 points and a ridiculous 10 assists in this contest.
Quadir Copeland, a 2022 four-star point guard and Orange target, generated seven points, nine rebounds and two assists as his AAU squad, the Millburn, N.J.-based New Jersey Scholars Elite Basketball Club, fell to the New York City-based New Heights Lightning, 64-57.
Copeland, who recently took an official visit to the ‘Cuse, will spend his senior year at the powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Team Cp3, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., crushed Carson, Calif.-based Real Run, 98-59. Two players on Team Cp3 are Orange 2023 four-star targets, and they are G.G. Jackson and Aden Holloway.
Jackson, a sophomore power forward from Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., had seven points, nine boards, two assists, two blocks and one steal in the victory.
Holloway, a sophomore point guard, managed 18 points and four assists. He is transferring from the Covenant Day School in Matthews, N.C., to the La Lumiere School.
Finally, 2023 four-star prospect Matas Buzelis had 12 points and nine rebounds in his AAU squad’s loss to the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals, 56-51.
Buzelis, a talented wing, runs on the AAU circuit with the Chicago-based Mac Irvin Fire. He is a sophomore at the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.
