Syracuse basketball 2022 four-star prospect Chris Bunch recently took his official visit to the Hill, one of seven elite players in this class to have traveled to Central New York in the month of June.

The 6-foot-7 wing, a junior at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif., is seeing his stock rise, according to national analysts. A top-100 prospect in the 2022 cycle as it currently stands, I believe that Bunch likely will climb into the top 75, or even the top 50, in the future.

While Bunch’s recruiting process has seemed to fly a bit under the radar as compared to other Orange 2022 targets, he is clearly in high demand. Competition for the ‘Cuse to land his services absolutely appears on the rise.

Besides an official visit to the Orange, Bunch also had an official visit on the docket to Rutgers, according to a tweet from ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello.

The Scarlet Knights are a solid Big Ten Conference team that made the Big Dance this past spring and defeated Syracuse basketball in the most recent campaign.

Lots of high-majors are interested in Syracuse basketball four-star target Chris Bunch.

To date, I haven’t seen any predictions from national analysts for Bunch on either the 247Sports Web site or Rivals.com. It could be that his recruiting process has a ways to go.

Bunch has a ton of scholarship offers, more than two-dozen in fact. Teams that have generated some buzz with him in the past include the Orange, Florida State, Oregon, Seton Hall and USC.

His other offers include from Arkansas, Ole Miss, San Diego State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Rutgers, Creighton, Iowa State, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Massachusetts.

Borzello’s tweet provides some additional insights. According to Borzello, Bunch recently has been talking to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Duke and UNLV.

Duke and Syracuse basketball appear to be honing in on several of the same 2022 prospects, and that also extends to the 2023 cycle as well.

The Blue Devils are a blue-blood group, and their involvement with Bunch could provide tough competition for the ‘Cuse. Per Borzello, other units that Bunch is hearing from include the ACC’s Florida State, USC, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Rhode Island and Maryland.

These are big-time crews. The Seminoles, for one, have probably been the best ACC team in recent years, save for Virginia. USC does well in recruiting and made the Elite Eight during the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

I still like the Orange’s chances with Bunch, but his recruitment clearly is heating up.
