Syracuse basketball finds itself in a massive recruiting battle for elite 2022 big man Kyle Filipowski, who recently added scholarship offers from Duke and Michigan to his already loaded list of high-major offers.

There is a lot of chatter online that the Blue Devils may be the front-runner to land the 6-foot-10 power forward, although this is a bunch of speculation. Filipowski’s recruitment could have a way to go, and the Orange appears to have a decent shot at prevailing for him.

Filipowski, a junior at the Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Mass., plays for the New York City-based NY Renaissance on the AAU circuit. Numerous national analysts and recruiting insiders have praised the four-star Filipowski of late for his performances in recent AAU competitions and other events.

Let’s see where Syracuse basketball target Kyle Filipowski is rated in some new national rankings.

Filipowski is clearly a fast-riser in the 2022 cycle whose stock is skyrocketing. Case in point, ESPN recently updated its national ratings for this class, and Filipowski climbed from No. 31 to No. 20 overall.

Additionally, ESPN has him as the No. 4 power forward throughout the entire country. Filipowski is right on the cusp of attaining five-star status with ESPN, and I think that he’ll get there down the road.

The 247Sports recruiting service has unveiled a new version of its 2022 player rankings, and Filipowski made one of the biggest moves in this class, going from No. 86 to No. 40.

To that end, when Rivals.com updated its 2022 ratings not too long ago, Filipowski also had a sizable jump. He increased by 69 spots, to No. 48 overall, according to Rivals.com.

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite, by the way, currently has Filipowski as the No. 33 prospect around the country in the 2022 cycle.

Travis Branham, a national analyst with 247Sports, recently wrote regarding Filipowski’s recruiting process that “Duke is his most recent offer and have arguably propelled themselves atop the race for the four-star big man but Ohio State, Syracuse and Indiana are all right there in the mix as well.”

Filipowski took an official visit to the Hill toward the beginning of June. He is friends with 2022 four-star wing Justin Taylor, a new ‘Cuse commit. Taylor has said that he is trying to help recruit Filipowski to Syracuse basketball.
