There may not be a hotter prospect in the 2023 class than Syracuse basketball four-star target G.G. Jackson, based on recent comments that I’ve read about him from national analysts and recruiting insiders.

Recently, college coaches were able to begin making direct communication with high-school prospects in the 2023 cycle, and the 6-foot-8 Jackson has witnessed an explosion as it pertains to his recruiting process.

He’s landed a ton of high-major offers. Additionally, the stellar power forward out of South Carolina has entered the top-20 nationally within his class, and I could see Jackson ultimately emerge as a top-10 prospect in the 2023 cycle.

Jackson is a sophomore at Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C. According to analysts, he has fared quite well of late on the AAU circuit and in other competitions. The scholarship offers should continue to pour in for Jackson.

Syracuse basketball got involved with four-star G.G. Jackson early on.

The Orange coaching staff saw the talent and promise of Jackson before many other college squads, as the ‘Cuse was the first to offer him, back in August of 2020.

Per Jackson’s Twitter page and his bio on various recruiting Web sites, his newer offers include from blue-blood groups Duke and North Carolina, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, N.C. State and Maryland. That the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels are in the mix says something about Jackson’s skill-set for sure.

Previous offers have come from teams such as Georgetown, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Boston College and High Point.

Jackson recently told Rivals.com national analyst Jamie Shaw that the squads he hears from the most include South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and High Point.

When Rivals.com recently updated its national ratings for the 2023 class, Jackson moved up to No. 20 overall. He’s also inching closer to five-star status with that recruiting service.

The 247Sports Composite and 247Sports have him as four stars, a top-seven power forward and the No. 1 prospect in South Carolina. Jackson is arranged at No. 30 across the country by the 247Sports Composite, whereas 247Sports has him at No. 34 nationally.

I’m glad that Syracuse basketball coaches offered Jackson early in his recruiting process, but the competition is growing bigger and more intense all the time.
