Jason Asemota is regarded as possibly one of the best wings across the country in his class, according to some recruiting analysts, and he said in a recent interview that one of his favorite teams is Syracuse basketball.
The 6-foot-7 Asemota, a freshman at the powerhouse Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., is listed as a 2024 shooting guard or small forward under his bios on recruiting Web sites. He runs with the Boston-based Expressions Elite Basketball on the AAU circuit.
According to recruiting services and Asemota’s own Twitter page, he holds early scholarship offers from UMass and Stony Brook. Trust me when I say that his list of offers is going to grow in the near future as his recruitment continues to heat up.
As the primary recruiting services start to unveil national rankings for the 2024 cycle, I have no doubt that Asemota will be highly rated within his class.
Max Feldman, the founder of frontofficegurus.com, said in a recent tweet that Asemota is showing interest from numerous high-major teams, including Connecticut, Kentucky, Oregon and 2021 NCAA champion Baylor.
Jason Asemota, a talented 2024 wing, is a fan of Syracuse basketball.
In a recent piece by ZAGSBLOG.com analyst and writer Jacob Polacheck, Asemota said, “A few of my favorite schools are UConn, Syracuse and Kentucky as well.”
Eric Bossi, one of the best analysts in the business and the national basketball director for 247Sports, said in a recent tweet that Asemota “is a dude. Skilled jump shooter, patient plays with pace and poise.”
In recent years, a handful of Brewster Academy players have gone on to careers suiting up for the ‘Cuse. We recently published a column detailing how Syracuse basketball coaches are reportedly taking a look at Taylor Bowen, a five-star, top-20 prospect in the 2023 class who competes for the Brewster Academy as well as Expressions Elite Basketball.
Matas Buzelis, a 2023 four-star player and Orange target, plays for the Brewster Academy. Additionally, Syracuse basketball 2023 prospect Gavin Griffiths, a wing from the Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, Conn., runs with Expressions Elite Basketball.
There are a lot of fun connections here, and I’m hopeful that ‘Cuse coaches will get into the mix for Asemota.
