One of the top prospects in the 2023 class is hearing a lot from Syracuse basketball and a few other high-major programs, according to a report.

Taylor Bowen is a five-star, top-20 player in this cycle, and he said in a recent interview that the Orange is in consistent communication.

The 6-foot-8 wing, listed as a small forward on most recruiting Web sites, is a sophomore who in the upcoming campaign will suit up for the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.

This past April, Bowen said on Twitter that he would transfer from the St. George’s School in Middletown, R.I., to the Brewster Academy, which has sent numerous guys to the Hill in recent years.

In a recent interview with Rivals.com national analyst Jamie Shaw, Bowen said, “We are hearing the most from Iowa, Syracuse, Oregon, LSU and some other schools, too, right now.”

Syracuse basketball is taking a look at five-star Taylor Bowen.

According to Bowen’s Twitter page, recruiting Web sites and other online resources, he holds offers from teams such as Connecticut, Penn State, Arkansas, Iowa, LSU, Providence, Rutgers, Bryant, Vermont, George Mason and Kansas State.

Per his bio on Rivals.com, a bunch of squads is also showing interest in Bowen, including Florida State, Clemson, Michigan State, Stanford, Marquette, Indiana, Georgia and TCU. It appears that Oregon, Ohio State and Vanderbilt are reportedly in the mix as well.

According to numerous comments from analysts and recruiting insiders, Bowen performed quite well at the recent 2021 Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas.

"On his performance at this event, 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi said in part, “Bowen is a long and lean athlete who plays with lots of energy and versatility. Big wing, small ball four, it doesn’t really matter because he fits both roles. He was finishing lobs, draining threes and seemed to have a lot of fun competing.”"

At the Brewster Academy, Bowen is teammates with ‘Cuse 2023 four-star prospect Matas Buzelis. On the AAU circuit, Bowen runs with the Boston-based Expressions Elite Basketball, where one of his colleagues is Syracuse basketball 2023 target Gavin Griffiths, a wing from the Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, Conn.

Bowen is rated five stars by the 247Sports Composite and ESPN. Nationally in his class, ESPN ranks Bowen at No. 19, while the 247Sports Composite has him at No. 23. He is also a top-five small forward in the 2023 cycle.
