1. Buddy Boeheim vs San Diego State

Boeheim’s game stats: 30 points (11/15 field goals), 7/10 three-pointers, 4 rebounds

If there’s one single game that Syracuse basketball supporters will remember for years to come, it’s the Round of 64 NCAA Tournament win over San Diego State. The 11-seed Orange knocked off the Aztecs by a landslide. Buddy Boeheim was the star of the upset and captivated the entire NCAA Tournament in the process.

It was a continuation from Boeheim’s outpouring against Virginia, but the efficiency of this one stood out. Boeheim shot 70% from behind the arc and missed just one more inside the line. He also only coughed the ball up once in his 34 minutes on the court, so Boeheim was virtually unshakable against the Aztecs.

Buddy would go on to score another 25 points against West Virginia in the Round of 32 before finally being slowed down with just 12 against Houston in the Sweet 16.

Next. Syracuse basketball could pursue No. 1 prospect in consecutive classes. dark
