2. Buddy Boeheim vs Virginia

Boeheim’s game stats: 31 points (10/17 field goals), 5/8 three-pointers, 3 assists, 2 rebounds

It was hard to keep some of Buddy’s other games off of this list, but I settled on his top two to give some deserved shine to a few of his teammates. Starting with this game against Virginia, these two were impossible to keep off the list.

Boeheim started hot out of the gate, knocking down two shots in the opening two minutes to spark an early 7-0 run. He finished with 15 in the first half and one-upped the good start with 16 in the second half. A buzzer-beating three by Reece Beekman put a bad ending on the storybook start, but as far as individual games go, this one had to be included win or lose.

Boeheim ended the season practically unconscious from deep, and this game against the Cavaliers was an absolute testament to that. It was actually the second of such games in a string of four straight big scoring games, the first being a 27 point game against North Carolina State in the Orange’s first ACC Tournament game.
