Syracuse Basketball: 5 Best Individual Performances of 2020-21
3. Alan Griffin vs Buffalo
Griffin’s game stats: 24 points (8/14 field goals), 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals
Alan Griffin had other games where he scored more points, but in this game, he did a little bit of everything. He also delivered perhaps the most memorable moment of the season for Syracuse basketball.
Late in the second half, Griffin soared for a chase-down block that helped force overtime, where the Orange would pull ahead and win the game.
Griffin would then continue his hot play in the lone overtime period, exploding for nine points with three rebounds and a steal.
While Griffin was a streaky shooter and would often be taken out of games for his lack of defense, this game showed what he was capable of at his best. He shot efficiently from the field, worked on the glass, and gave forth a lot of defensive effort. All of it helped contribute to the Syracuse win.
Griffin won’t be back in Orange next season, but this was a game Orange fans will remember for some time.
