Syracuse basketball 2022 high-priority target Justin Taylor is setting up campus visits, and one of them is to the Hill, according to a recruiting analyst.

Now that NCAA officials are allowing in-person recruiting efforts to resume in the near future, high-school prospects are beginning to plan accordingly.

The 6-foot-6 Taylor, a four-star wing and top-100 player in the 2022 cycle, will take an official visit to the ‘Cuse on June 9-10, per a tweet from Mike McAllister, the publisher of SyracuseOnSI.

This is obviously an encouraging sign for the Orange, although it’s not a surprising one. Taylor has spoken highly of the Syracuse basketball program for a while now, and recruiting insiders believe that the ‘Cuse has a strong shot at landing the junior out of the St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Va.

Taylor holds a bunch of other impressive scholarship offers, including from fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squads North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech, as well as Indiana.

As we detailed in a column not too long ago, Taylor also recently picked up an offer from Southeastern Conference member Florida. It will be interesting to see how the Gators factor into Taylor’s recruiting process moving forward.

Syracuse basketball continues to make 2022 four-star Justin Taylor a top priority.

After Roy Williams, UNC’s long-time head coach and a three-time national champion, announced his retirement, I wondered how that might affect the Tar Heels’ recruitment of Taylor.

In a recent 247Sports article, the headline said that new North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis has reaffirmed UNC’s offer to Taylor.

So it would appear that North Carolina will continue on as a suitor for Taylor, and blue-blood competition for him certainly will make it more challenging for the Orange to win out in this recruiting battle.

Not only will the Tar Heels prove tough to beat, but Taylor goes to high school in Charlottesville, and that likely means the hometown Cavaliers are a formidable foe, too.

I’m a huge fan of Taylor. He’s really talented and a nice young man. Pairing him with recent 2022 commit Kamari Lands, an elite wing from Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif., would be stellar.

Plus, Syracuse basketball 2021 commit Benny Williams, a five-star forward, talks to Taylor about joining the team’s 2022 class. Hopefully, Taylor’s upcoming visit to Central New York will only enhance the Orange’s chances of securing his services.
