Syracuse basketball 2022 target Quadir Copeland is having a wonderful junior season, and his recruitment continues to expand on a national scale, according to analysts.

Like many Orange fans, I sincerely hope that Copeland ends up choosing the ‘Cuse, although competition for him is getting more and more intense.

For me, it’s not just that the 6-foot-6 point guard is a tremendous talent on the court. He’s also really impressive off of the court, and I highly recommend that you follow him on Twitter. He puts a lot of gems on social media that illustrate his high character.

Syracuse basketball coaches offered a scholarship to Copeland last November. Additionally, per a review of various recruiting Web sites, he also holds offers from Oregon, Miami, Maryland, Penn State, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s and Siena.

In a recent article by Rivals.com national analyst Jamie Shaw, Copeland said that he “may be close” to receiving an offer from Villanova as well.

That could prove a game-changer, as the Wildcats have won two national championships in recent years, and Villanova is a really tough competitor on the recruiting trail.

Syracuse basketball 2022 prospect Quadir Copeland would thrive in the 2-3 zone.

Copeland, who has stellar floor vision, is an under-rated player in the 2022 recruiting cycle. The 247Sports Composite and 247Sports rate him as a three-star prospect, with the 247Sports Composite ranking Copeland No. 164 overall in this class.

However, as he continues to compete at a high level, and given that he has a senior stanza remaining, I could absolutely foresee Copeland ending up as a four-star, top-100 player when all is said and done.

Copeland, who attends the Life Center Academy in Burlington, N.J., recently participated at the CBG East Coast Elite 24 event in Richmond, Va., where he shined.

Marcellus Bowie, the founder of sports-analytics service Legit Sport Stats, said in a tweet that Copeland “is a future high major guard that’s a triple-double threat every time he touches the floor.”

Regarding the Orange, Copeland said to Rivals.com analyst Shaw, “I like the movement with their offense and then I like their defensive scheme, too. I really like watching the way they play.”

Copeland would be a huge pick-up for Syracuse basketball in its 2022 cycle, and we’ll continue to monitor what other offers arrive for him moving forward.
