Rivals.com recently disclosed an updated set of national rankings for the 2022 class, and various Syracuse basketball prospects made moves in these ratings, with many of these high-school juniors sliding a bit.

Five-star power forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, who attends Scotland Campus in Scotland, Pa., has the Orange in his top six. As we recently noted in a column, the ultra-talented Huntley-Hatfield fell six spots, to No. 14 overall, in the new Rivals.com rankings of the top-150 players.

Five-star forward Jarace Walker, out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., climbed one spot to No. 11 nationally. The ‘Cuse offered Walker last summer.

Zion Cruz is now a five-star prospect per Rivals.com. The combo guard, who attends The Patrick School in Hillside, N.J., moved up five positions to No. 16. Chance Westry, a four-star guard with the Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Calif., fell six placements to No. 32.

Donovan Clingan, a four-star center that the Orange seems to be really high on, suits up for Bristol Central High School in Bristol, Conn. In the new Rivals.com ratings, he dropped two spots to No. 47.

Four-star wing Kamari Lands has spoken positively about the ‘Cuse as he competes for Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif. Lands is down four positions to No. 62 overall.

Four-star wing Justin Taylor, from the St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Va., really likes the Orange system. He fell a half-dozen placements to No. 69 nationally.

Ty Rodgers, a four-star wing and high-priority target for Syracuse basketball, is out of Grand Blanc Community High School in Grand Blanc, Mich. He is down three spots to No. 78.

Yann Farrell, a four-star small forward, plays for the powerhouse Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H. In the latest Rivals.com ratings, Farrell soared 12 placements to No. 89 across the country in the 2022 class.

Finally, four-star point guard J.J. Starling is a Central New York product who transferred from Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, N.Y., to the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind.

In the Rivals.com rankings, he dropped five positions to No. 104 overall, which is a lot lower than Starling’s national ratings via other recruiting services.
