A national analyst praises Syracuse basketball 2021 commit Benny Williams for his passing and court vision.

Syracuse basketball 2021 five-star commit Benny Williams is having himself a stellar senior season to date, and he displayed his versatile skill-set at an event hosted by his high-school team.

Williams attends the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., which from Dec. 17-18 held its inaugural Sunshine Prep Showcase. Rob Cassidy, a national analyst for Rivals.com, says that top-notch teams nationwide participated in the event.

On day one, in the late game on Thursday, the IMG Academy conquered the Massanutten Military Academy out of Woodstock, Va., 82-66, according to Cassidy.

The 6-foot-8 Williams, a small forward/power forward, tallied 18 points, per the Rivals.com national analyst, who noted that the Orange commit’s passing “was most impressive.”

“Williams’ court vision continues to improve, as the five-star spent the game throwing accurate passes through tight windows while almost never missing an open teammate,” Cassidy writes.

He adds that Williams “wowed with versatility, knocking down jumpers from the corner, getting to the basket at will and playing steady defense that featured an emphatic block at the hoop.”

Syracuse basketball 2021 five-star commit Benny Williams continues to improve his craft.

I’ve read a bunch of articles from recruiting analysts and other experts in the sport since Williams verbally committed to the ‘Cuse multiple months ago.

From what I can tell, he has an extremely positive work ethic and remains laser-focused on getting better in all aspects of his game, whether it’s his shooting, defense, rebounding, passing – the list goes on and on.

He is rated five stars by Rivals.com and is nearing similar five-star status via ESPN and other recruiting services.

Plus, per this piece from SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister, Williams so far at the IMG Academy is averaging “15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.6 steals.”

That’s a mighty impressive all-around stat line for Williams, who will arrive on the Hill next year as one of the highest-rated recruits for the Orange in recent program history. Williams transferred to the powerhouse IMG Academy from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Md.
