Syracuse Football Top 25 Players of All-Time: No. 25 Eric Dungey
By Josh Peelman
Syracuse Football has had a long history of success on the gridiron. We look back at some of the best of the best to ever don the Orange at Syracuse University.
Syracuse Football is one of the most legendary and historic programs in college football. Littered with all kinds of amazing talent throughout its long history, Syracuse University has been privileged to welcome players like Donovan McNabb, Jim Brown, Dwight Freeney, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, Marvin Harrison, Art Monk, and John Mackey among many others. As such, it’s important to reflect on what these athletes accomplished both during and after they left SU.
So, in an honorary measure, Inside the Loud House compiled a list of who we thought were the best of the best to ever play for Syracuse Football. By no means is this a perfect list, as all these athletes were extraordinary. In addition, comparing a linebacker to a quarterback isn’t exactly a perfect science, it’s like comparing apples to oranges. There is no real criteria that can really compare one to the other, so we did our best to come up with those who made the biggest impacts based on what we see with stats, video footage, and the opinions of those who saw those athletes in that player’s era.
Bear in mind, more than three-quarters of the players on this list played before I was even born, so take this list with a grain of salt and weigh in on who you would have included in the comments.
So without further ado, let’s get started on who we feel are Syracuse Football’s Top 25 Players of All-Time, starting with No. 25: Eric Dungey.
