Recruiting experts say that Syracuse basketball 2023 target Aden Holloway has performed well at recent events.
Syracuse basketball sees the promise of 2023 point guard Aden Holloway, and others are beginning to take notice as well.
The Orange gave the 6-foot Holloway his first college scholarship offer, which came in the summer of 2019, before he had even entered the 9th grade.
In his freshman stint at the Covenant Day School in Matthews, N.C., Holloway flourished. He’s fared well at recent events, even if they have proven somewhat limited due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, recruiting analysts say.
And although for the moment Holloway isn’t nationally rated by the bevy of primary recruiting services, that is going to change sooner rather than later.
Evaluations that I’ve read on him suggest Holloway is absolutely going to amount to a four-star, top-100 player in this cycle, as well as one of the top point guards around the country in his class.
That the ‘Cuse has commenced its recruitment of Holloway so early on is a really encouraging sign, as that kind of loyalty hopefully will pay off.
Let’s face it, the high-school sophomore’s offer sheet – presently sitting at five squads, including fellow Atlantic Coast Conference members Virginia Tech and Wake Forest – is only going to widen on a national scale.
Syracuse basketball 2023 target Aden Holloway has done an admirable job boosting his stock, analysts say.
Jamie Shaw of NCPreps Hoops noted in this article that, as a freshman at the Covenant Day School, Holloway averaged 18 points and about 3 assists per contest, while connecting on 42 percent from beyond the arc. That’s ridiculously good.
Marty Parrish, the head coach at the Covenant Day School, said of his point guard to Shaw, “His game shifty. He changes speed and direction well. He has the ball on a string and is one of the elite shooters in the state, and country. Bottom line, he is a great player but a better person. He will make ripples in the world and people will be better because of him.”
That’s wonderfully high praise. OntheRadarHoops.com recently published a piece where it listed several 2023 prospects who stood out over the summer.
"Holloway is featured in the story, with this Web site writing that he “is a creative guard who is capable of making plays for himself and others. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands and able to change gears with good quickness, both stepping on the gas with his first step as well as stopping on a dime to pull-up. His ability to stop and rise-up enables him to get to his pull-up at virtually anytime. He understands positioning on the floor and flow of the game, and that is what makes him a great passer.”"
Jason Jordan, director of basketball recruiting for Sports Illustrated, echoed the thoughts put forth by OntheRadarHoops.com. Jordan agrees that Holloway has raised his stock.
"Jordan says of the Orange prospect, “Holloway is a crafty lead guard with pro range on his 3-pointer but is equally efficient on all three levels. Holloway has a special combination of speed and quickness with great feel and pace as a floor general. His full arsenal has been on consistent display all summer.”"
