Other schools continue to get more recent buzz for 2021 four-star forward Arthur Kaluma than Syracuse basketball.

For a stretch of time lately, UNLV has logged multiple analyst predictions for Syracuse basketball 2021 four-star target Arthur Kaluma, although his recruitment may be growing.

Rivals.com writer Dan McDonald recently put in his forecast of the 6-foot-8 power forward to the Rebels. By my count, that is a total of five recruiting experts on the 247Sports Web site and Rivals.com who are projecting top-60 prospect Kaluma to UNLV.

"However, 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi had this to say about Kaluma in a recent article. “A talented four man who presents matchup problems due to his ability to put the ball on the floor and high running motor, Kaluma’s recruitment is pretty interesting right now. UNLV looks to have put themselves in pretty good shape, but don’t rule out Arizona State here as the Sun Devils are making a charge. Odds of him signing early appear to be 50/50.”"

Several months ago, by the way, Kaluma revealed a top eight of Syracuse basketball, Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, USC and UNLV.

Yet in a Q&A interview with Pro Insight, Kaluma said that his recruitment is expanding. “Recently Missouri started talking to me,” he said.

Syracuse basketball 2021 four-star target Arthur Kaluma has witnessed his recruitment grow.

I found it interesting what Kaluma said when asked by Pro Insight for an update on his recruiting process. “I dropped my final eight not too long ago: Arkansas, UNLV, USC, Kansas off the top of my head. I’m not remembering it right now, but USC, UNLV, and Texas A&M have gone really hard.”

So Kaluma noted five of his eight finalists in that quote, minus the Orange, Oklahoma and Arizona State. That may not mean anything as it pertains to the ‘Cuse, or perhaps it could mean something. Just passing information along here, my friends.

"Kaluma, a senior at Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Ariz., said when asked about his role at a collegiate program, “I want to become a glue guy. Someone who glues a team together, someone who makes the right reads. Someone who can score when he needs to, but is always looking to pass and make his teammates better, encourage them and everything. Something like that. I’d be cool with that.”"

The signs are unfortunately pointing to Kaluma opting for a squad other than Syracuse basketball, which is a bummer. But whichever crew lands him is securing a talented prospect with a terrific attitude, mindset and work ethic.
