CBS Sports has put out its weekly rankings, this week including Big Ten teams, and Syracuse football plummeted 50 spots.

No squad around the country fell more positions in this week’s national rankings from CBS Sports and 247Sports than Syracuse football, as the Orange dropped a whopping 50 spots.

After losing this past weekend at home to unbeaten non-conference foe Liberty, the ‘Cuse is now rated No. 107 in the CBS Sports 127, a field that has expanded to include the return of games for the Big Ten Conference.

Not only is the Orange hovering toward the bottom of these ratings in general, but Syracuse football is also last among Atlantic Coast Conference groups in the CBS Sports 127.

Syracuse football has witnessed a huge decline in the latest national rankings from experts at CBS Sports and 247Sports.

Clemson, which the ‘Cuse competes with on the road this coming Saturday afternoon, is No. 1 in the major top-25 polls as well as the CBS Sports 127.

Notre Dame, which the Orange faces away from Central New York in early December, is next in the CBS Sports 127 at No. 5, followed by Miami at No. 12, North Carolina at No. 13, Virginia Tech at No. 19, N.C. State at No. 26, Boston College at No. 47, Pittsburgh at No. 53, Florida State at No. 60, Virginia at No. 64, Louisville at No. 66, Wake Forest at No. 67, Georgia Tech at No. 75, Duke at No. 103 and Syracuse football at No. 107.

Liberty, by the way, is No. 46 in the CBS Sports 127. No disrespect to Liberty, but the fact that the Flames are more than 60 placements ahead of the ‘Cuse is a true testament to the woes that Syracuse football is presently experiencing in the 2020 stanza.

With the Orange playing the Tigers this Saturday and the Fighting Irish on Dec. 5, among other ACC clashes lurking on the horizon, the outlook for Syracuse football for the remainder of the fall term doesn’t look so optimistic. As such, it wouldn’t prove a surprise if the ‘Cuse stays close to the basement in the CBS Sports 127.
