Syracuse basketball has shown interest in 2022 small forward Randi Ovalle, and hopefully the Orange will extend him an offer.

The national recruitment for 2022 prospect Randi Ovalle continues to expand, and Syracuse basketball has shown an interest in him, according to information provided on recruiting Web sites as well as social media.

The 6-foot-7 Ovalle, a three-star small forward who is now a junior at the Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, N.C., has collected nearly a dozen scholarship offers, and many more should arrive for him in the near future.

According to a review of various recruiting services, Ovalle’s offers at present are from Illinois, Mississippi State, Washington State, Loyola Marymount, San Diego, Montana State, Fresno State, UC Riverside, Pacific, Grand Canyon and Cal State Fullerton.

Additionally, per his bio on the 247Sports Web site, as well as a handful of separate tweets, Ovalle has gotten interest from Syracuse basketball, West Virginia, Charlotte, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State and Iona, a team whose head coach is Rick Pitino, the two-time national champion and former assistant of Orange boss Jim Boeheim many years ago.

Syracuse basketball has recently expressed interest in 2022 small forward Randi Ovalle, who goes to high school in North Carolina.

While Ovalle isn’t ranked by all of the recruiting services on a national scale, he does currently check in at No. 168 overall within the 2022 cycle, according to Prep Hoops.

The 247Sports Composite arranges Ovalle at No. 209 nationally, as well as No. 42 at the small-forward position and No. 6 in the state of North Carolina.

The 247Sports recruiting service itself, meanwhile, has Ovalle as the No. 51 small forward and the No. 9 high-school player in North Carolina.

We’ll of course keep an ear to the ground about if Syracuse basketball ends up offering Ovalle at some point. The Orange has one commit so far in its 2022 class, five-star point guard Dior Johnson.

The ‘Cuse remains in pursuit of a range of top-flight talents in this cycle, including multiple small forwards. Whether that has any influence on Syracuse ultimately offering Ovalle is something we’ll monitor.
