The Syracuse football future offensive line appears bright, despite 2021 three-star offensive tackle Christopher Adams heading elsewhere.

Syracuse football 2021 target Christopher Adams is opting for Old Dominion rather than the Orange or others in his final six, which stinks, but the ‘Cuse offensive-line cadre in this cycle is still really solid.

Adams, a three-star offensive tackle and senior who attends South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Md., disclosed via Twitter that he will go to Old Dominion, a squad that competes in Conference USA.

In picking the Monarchs, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Adams went with Old Dominion over Syracuse football and other finalists Duke, Virginia Tech, Florida International University and James Madison.

Leading up to his collegiate announcement, recruiting analysts didn’t post any predictions on the 247Sports Web site or Rivals.com, so it proved challenging to determine any front-runners to land Adams.

The Orange and Virginia Tech, however, did previously get listed as “warm” within his bio on 247sports.com, so I figured that Syracuse football had an excellent shot of hearing its name called on Friday.

Oh well. Wishing Christopher all the best. He’ll thrive with the Monarchs. Adams is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals.com. The 247Sports recruiting service says that he is the No. 109 offensive tackle and the No. 40 prospect in the state of Maryland. Rivals.com, meanwhile, has Adams as the No. 32 prospect in Maryland.

Syracuse football offensive-line commits in 2021 are strong, even with Christopher Adams choosing Old Dominion.

As Syracuse football prepares to host winless Duke in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle on Saturday afternoon, the Orange is hoping to notch its second-straight conquest of the Blue Devils while leveling its 2020 record at 2-2.

The ‘Cuse, though, is dealing with injuries and other setbacks on the offensive line, something that has plagued the Orange on numerous occasions in recent stanzas.

On the face of it, swinging and missing on a talented 2021 offensive tackle such as Adams is a total bummer. However, out of the 21 commitments to date in the Syracuse football 2021 recruiting cycle, five of them are on the offensive line, and these prospects are quite good. We detailed this group in a recent piece.

It’s always a let-down when a high-school player has the Orange among his finalists but doesn’t elect to come to the Hill, but the near-term future of the Syracuse football offensive line remains promising.
