Syracuse football 2021 running back commit Josh Hough is garnering some high praise from a recruiting analyst.

Syracuse football 2021 running back commit Josh Hough, who has put up some ridiculous numbers so far in his senior season of high school, is seeing his stock rise, according to Adam Friedman, a recruiting analyst with Rivals.com.

Friedman has published a piece where he takes a look at five players from the East region, regardless of class designation, whose stock is already jumping early in the fall term. Hough, a talented 6-foot-2, 235-pound running back out of Beaver Falls High School in Beaver Falls, Pa., is included in the article.

In one recent contest for Beaver Falls High School, Hough recorded an almost unthinkable 243 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just four carries, per a story by Mike Curtis of Syracuse.com.

A recruiting analyst says that Syracuse football 2021 RB commit Josh Hough is witnessing a rise in his stock.

"Here’s what Friedman said about Hough in his write-up on the Orange recruit. “Seeing Hough commit to Syracuse was a bit of a surprise. Dino Babers’ wide-open offense doesn’t employ a bruiser like Hough very often. The change-of-pace back should end up being very effective for the Orange. After seeing an uninspiring performance by Hough at a workout in the summer in Pittsburgh, it seemed like he was destined for another position once he stepped foot on campus. Now, after the first few games of his senior season, a position change may not be a forgone conclusion. In two of his first four games, Hough ran for over 200 yards, once on 11 carries and another time on four carries. He doesn’t look like the typical college running back recruit, but he is certainly playing like one right now.”"

Presently, Rivals.com has Hough as a two-star prospect, although I would imagine this will change given his performances so far in the 2020 campaign.

ESPN.com slots Hough as three stars, No. 96 at his position within the 2021 recruiting cycle, and No. 30 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Additionally, he is a three-star player via 247Sports and the 247Sports Composite. From the 247Sports Composite, Hough is No. 1,791 overall, No. 115 at running back and No. 38 in Pennsylvania. The recruiting service 247Sports, meanwhile, places him as the No. 77 running back and the No. 28 prospect in Pennsylvania.
