Syracuse basketball coaches recently held a virtual meeting with Ty Rodgers, a 2022 four-star wing.
Syracuse basketball has one commit to date in its 2022 class, five-star point guard Dior Johnson, while the Orange continues to target a range of other elite prospects in this recruiting cycle, including top-90 player Ty Rodgers out of Michigan.
According to a tweet from Jake Weingarten, the founder of Stockrisers.com, Syracuse basketball head coach Jim Boeheim and his staff recently conducted a virtual meeting with the 6-foot-6 Rodgers, a four-star small forward.
The ‘Cuse offered Rodgers in mid-June and “have been in hot pursuit since,” Weingarten wrote in his tweet. Rodgers, by the way, is a junior at Grand Blanc Community High School in Grand Blanc, Mich.
From what I’ve read about Rodgers’ recruitment over the past few months, it does seem that Syracuse basketball is in solid shape with the talented wing. However, given that he hails from Michigan, Rodgers naturally is garnering a lot of attention from schools within the rugged Big Ten Conference.
Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim and his staff virtually met with Top-50 junior Ty Rodgers today, a source told @Stockrisers. The Orange offered this summer and have been in hot pursuit since.

Syracuse basketball has a massive challenge trying to prevail in the recruiting battle over 2022 four-star wing Ty Rodgers.
At this juncture, Rodgers holds 10 scholarship offers, according to a review of the main recruiting services. Besides the Orange, those offers are from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Maryland, Houston, Marquette, Missouri, Rhode Island and fellow Atlantic Coast Conference crew Florida State.
Additionally, per Rodgers’ bios on the primary recruiting Web sites, he is receiving interest from Wisconsin and the ACC’s Louisville. For now, I’m not seeing any predictions by recruiting analysts of possible front-runners for Rodgers, and, because he has two years of high school left, I’d expect many more high-major offers to pour in for him.

Rodgers is also a top-18 small forward across the country as well as a top-four prospect in the state of Michigan within the 2022 recruiting cycle.
