Syracuse football looks to pick up its first victory of 2020 against Georgia Tech, and our staff writers log their predictions for this ACC collision.

Syracuse football has only played two games so far in the current campaign, and the fan base is already concerned, disappointed and frustrated.

The Orange (0-2, 0-2) has looked woeful on offense in losing to nationally ranked Pittsburgh and North Carolina, albeit with both affairs on the road.

But scoring a combined 16 points across a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference duels isn’t going to win the ‘Cuse many encounters, and up next for Syracuse football this Saturday at noon is a Georgia Tech (1-1, 1-0) crew that is piling up tons of yards on offense through two games.

In all fairness, despite its yardage production, the Yellow Jackets aren’t entirely lighting up the scoreboard, so if the Orange defense can hang tough, and the ‘Cuse offense finally gets going, Syracuse football certainly has a chance to notch a victory in its 2020 home opener.

Despite the fact that Georgia Tech is suiting up on the road, and the Yellow Jackets have never previously competed versus the Orange in Central New York, odds-makers view Georgia Tech as the betting favorite over the ‘Cuse.

A lot of things need to improve for Syracuse football to prevail in this match-up. It all starts with the quarterback play, and some Orange fans think that redshirt junior Tommy DeVito’s time as the ‘Cuse starting QB could prove numbered.

The running game hasn’t been overly impressive, and this facet of the Orange offense has to find more success to help Syracuse football sustain drives and give the ‘Cuse defense a breather here and there.
