Syracuse Football: Game time, TV, Radio and more vs Georgia Tech
By Josh Peelman
Syracuse Football takes on Georgia Tech Saturday afternoon at the newly renovated Carrier Dome. Here’s the info you need to watch and listen to the game.
Syracuse Football lost again last week against Pittsburgh on the road, 21-10. Sure, they still looked good on defense, but boy, was that offense awful! The Orange will have their hands full going forward if things don’t shape up soon on that side of the ball. Up next is a rebuilding Georgia Tech team who very well may be just what the Orange need to get back on track at the newly renovated Carrier Dome on Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets are 1-1, but barely look the part. Sure, they won at Florida State in Week 1, but it was a sloppy game and not exactly one to be super proud of. Then last week, they got trounced by a ranked University of Central Florida (UCF) squad. So the verdict is still out on what they truly are.
Syracuse at least knows what they are. They have had solid defense through three quarters in both games that just gets tired by the fourth quarter because they’ve been out there too long because the offense isn’t holding possessions long enough. If the offense can find an identity then the Orange might actually be somewhat good this year, or at least better than average.
Since the two teams aren’t necessarily the greatest, the real highlight of this game will probably be the newly renovated Carrier Dome without fans, due to state policy. Though we’ll miss the loud fans noises and sounds of the Loud House and the gameday atmosphere of being there in person, we’ll still get to see it from afar. Most of us are curious what SU’s newly fixed up Dome looks like, and I’m sure it won’t entirely disappoint.

In regards to the game though, let’s look at the stats from last week for further clarity:
How do these teams match up?
Total yards per game: Syracuse 186.5 yards, Georgia Tech 454.5 yards
Points per game: Syracuse 8, Georgia Tech 18.5
Points Allowed per game: Syracuse 26.0, Georgia Tech 31.0
Yards Allowed per game: Syracuse 483.5 yards, Georgia Tech 402.5 yards

The good news for Syracuse based on these numbers is that the Orange defense has allowed fewer points per game than the Yellow Jackets. That is actually the first category all year so far that Syracuse has been better at in these comparisons each week. The bad news is they are blown out pretty much in every other category by Georgia Tech which is not usually a good sign.
We should be happy though that Georgia Tech has scored less than most opponents though, only averaging 18.5 points per game so far which means SU might actually have a chance even if the offense isn’t much improved.
The current margin for this game according to ESPN is about 7.5 points favoring Georgia Tech, which means they see this game could swing either way. The fact that ESPN also gives Syracuse a 32.4% chance of winning compared to Georgia Tech’s 67.6% is a reflection of their lack of confidence in Georgia Tech pulling out a win on the road.
