Syracuse football continues to recruit well in its 2021 class, as three-star wide receiver Oronde Gadsden II committed to the Orange on Monday.

Syracuse football has picked up another wide receiver in its 2021 recruiting cycle, as the Orange landed three-star Oronde Gadsden II on Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Gadsden, whose father played in the NFL for six seasons with the Miami Dolphins, revealed his pledge to the ‘Cuse via Twitter.

He held around 20 scholarship offers from a range of high-major teams, such as Baylor, Boston College, Georgia Tech and West Virginia, according to a review of various recruiting Web sites.

Per 247Sports, just prior to his commitment to Syracuse football, Gadsden had whittled down his list to the Orange, Penn State, Arizona State and South Florida.

For the ‘Cuse to win the recruiting battle over Gadsden in a situation where Big Ten Conference heavyweight Penn State, for one, also factored into the mix is an encouraging sign for Syracuse football.

Rated as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite, 247Sports and Rivals.com, Gadsden is a senior at the American Heritage School, a prep school with two locations in South Florida.

Syracuse football is on a roll with its 2021 class, most recently securing a pledge from three-star wide receiver Oronde Gadsden II.

On Monday morning, one recruiting expert on the 247Sports Web site logged a prediction for the Orange as it pertains to Gadsden, so it seems that the ‘Cuse did have momentum with the talented wide receiver.

Nationally in the 2021 class, the 247Sports Composite places Gadsden at No. 1099 overall, No. 162 at wide receiver and No. 146 in the state of Florida.

The 247Sports recruiting service, meanwhile, has Gadsden as the No. 173 wide receiver in this cycle, as well as the No. 131 high-school player in Florida.

Gadsden coming on board in Central New York gives Syracuse football a total of 21 commitments in its 2021 class. He is the Orange’s third wide receiver in this cycle, joining fellow three-star prospects Umari Hatcher and Kendall Long.

At present, the Syracuse football 2021 recruiting cycle is slotted at No. 45 nationally by both 247Sports and Rivals.com.
