35 points as a benchmark

North Carolina is going to score the ball. Even if Andre Cisco and co. and force turnovers and stops on defense, the Heels will still find a way to put the ball in the end zone. How does Syracuse respond? By scoring the football.

I mentioned DeVito’s passing yards as a benchmark, but that will only go so far. Syracuse football will need to capitalize on any amount of yards gained on offense, which has to result in touchdowns.

Of course, this can happen in a lot of ways. Whether it’s from the air, on the ground, on special teams or a defensive return, 35 points seem like a safe amount if the Orange wants to start 1-0.

UNC could very well top that, but at that point, the defense just didn’t hold their own and the ‘Cuse wouldn’t deserve a victory. If SU can check off all three of these statistics, write down a 1-0 start for the Orange in 2020.
