Tommy DeVito needs over 300 yards passing

With Jawhar Jordan getting the start at running back, Syracuse can’t rely on the backfield to deliver the win. While Jordan and co. still need to play solid, the passing game needs to carry the Syracuse football offense.

DeVito had two such games in 2019 and a near third against Boston College. But in 2020, that needs to change. As a junior, it’s time for DeVito to take total control of the offense, and with a limited backfield, games like this one against UNC are vital for him to play strong.

Of course, those passing yards will need to result in scores – whether it’s through the air or on the ground. Field goals won’t be enough to take down one of the best offensive teams in the ACC. Instead, DeVito will need to be a leader on the field and use his talented passing arm to the Orange’s advantage.
