Former Syracuse basketball star, Tyler Ennis, signs a deal to return to play professional basketball in Turkey. We have all the details.

Former Syracuse basketball star, Tyler Ennis, now knows where he will be playing next season. He is headed back to Turkey to play in the Turkish Basketball Super League for Turk Telecom B.K., according to Syracuse.com. This will be Ennis’s second stint in the league after playing two seasons ago for Fenerbache before an injury ended his season.

Last season Ennis was teamed up with another Orange star, Oshae Brissett, while they both played for the Raptors 905 in the G League. For the G league affiliate, Ennis put up some impressive numbers in 42 games for the team.

Tyler Ennis 2019-2020 G League stats:

  • 17.2 points per game
  • 7.5 assists per game
  • 1.7 steals per game

Ennis started in nearly every game and led the squad in assists, but that wasn’t enough to get a big-league call-up. While for now, his NBA hopes are put on pause, there is a new opportunity for Ennis to flourish playing professional basketball. He is only 25 years old and has years of basketball ahead of him.

In his lone year at ‘Cuse, Ennis led the squad and impressed NBA scouts in the process. The guard averaged nearly 13 points a game and five and a half assists per contest. The Orange finished the 2013-14 season with a 28-6 record and ended second in the ACC. Ennis finished second just behind C.J. fair in scoring.

After his breakout freshman season, he entered his name into the NBA draft. With the No. 18 pick, he was selected to the Phoenix Suns in 2014. Since then, he has bounced between the G League, the NBA, and overseas leagues. But now his future is clear, and he will suit up for Turk Telecom B.K. next season. Orange fans should keep an eye out for the former ‘Cuse star in Turkey next season.
