Justin Lamson, a three-star quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle, could announce in the near term, and Syracuse football is in the mix.

Syracuse football target Justin Lamson, one of the best quarterbacks in the 2021 class who has yet to commit to a collegiate destination, is aiming to possibly reveal his choice next week or sometime soon thereafter, according to a report.

Greg Biggins, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, wrote in an article that Lamson has a top four of the ‘Cuse, fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Louisville, San Jose State and Wyoming, although Lamson has received an offer from Boise State and is interested in the Broncos, too.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Lamson, a rising senior at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, Calif., is rated as three stars by 247Sports. That recruiting service slots him as the No. 18 dual-threat quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle, and also the No. 51 prospect in the state of California.

While Orange coaches offered a scholarship to Lamson only about a week ago, Syracuse has emerged as one of his favorites as the quarterback’s decision timeframe inches closer.

Lamson told Biggins that after thinking everything over, if he feels good about where he is, Lamson could “announce next week.” In late April, MaxPreps.com’s Zack Poff published a piece on the top-100 under-rated prospects across the 2021 class, and he included Lamson.

Quarterback Justin Lamson, a Syracuse football target in the 2021 class, has taken a visit to the Central New York campus.

"After recently visiting the Hill, Lamson had this to say, in part, about the ‘Cuse in the Biggins’ story. “I really enjoyed that visit a lot. Everyone in the area bleeds Syracuse orange and love the school. Everyone was so supportive and there’s a lot of tradition back there. Even though they just offered, I’ve been talking with them for a while now and I think the delay in offering was they just wanted to make sure I was sincerely interested in the program and I get that.”"

Currently, the Syracuse 2021 class does not feature a quarterback, and something tells me that is going to change when Lamson unveils his college pick in the near future.
