It’s never too early to look ahead at the 2020-21 season. The ITLH crew has a roundtable discussion of Syracuse basketball and its ACC foes.

After a so called ‘down year’ in which the ACC really would have only seen four or five teams make the NCAA Tournament, the 2020-21 season looks like it should be more up to par. We can debate whether or not it truly was a down year for the conference another time, given ESPN bracketologist, Joe Lunardi, had three ACC teams slotted in as a four seed or better in his final tournament projections before it got canceled. Of course, Syracuse basketball will be right in the mix as well.

Now, all eyes are on greener pastures, as the college basketball world is more than ready for next season after being gypped of March Madness in 2020.

We thought it’d be a fun idea to have a roundtable discussion at Inside the Loud House, and give our own Way-too-early projections for the ACC as a whole, and of course, Syracuse basketball.

Four of our contributors (Mat Mlodzinski, Neil Adler, Ryan Lee, and Josh Peelman) give their way-too-early standings projections, along with some thoughts on the conference and of course, the Orange. However, to make it fun, we also wanted to see how we look as a team. For the following projections, consider 15 points for a first place voted team, 14 points for second place team, 13 for third and so on:

ILTH PROJECTIONS

  1. Virginia 56 (3 first place votes)
  2. Duke – 56 (1 first place votes)
  3. North Carolina – 54
  4. Florida State – 45
  5. Louisville – 45
  6. Georgia Tech – 40
  7. Syracuse – 32
  8. Clemson – 32
  9. Miami – 27
  10. NC State – 27
  11. Virginia Tech – 21
  12. Pitt – 20
  13. Notre Dame – 11
  14. Boston College – 8
  15. Wake Forest – 6

For ties, the team with the higher vote appearing in any of our personal polls was given the advantage. Let us know what you think of our personal and team voting!
