Syracuse basketball is among roughly a dozen schools to offer 2022 small forward Yann Farrell.

Syracuse basketball head coach Jim Boeheim has offered a scholarship to 2022 small forward Yann Farrell, who has picked up a bunch of offers over the past month or so. Recruiting analyst Andrew Slater first reported, via Twitter, the development of the Orange offering Farrell.

Per a review of several major recruiting services, the 6-foot-7 Farrell holds offers from 13 teams at this juncture, including Big East Conference members Connecticut, Seton Hall, St. John’s and Marquette.

Others vying for Farrell, who is rated as three stars by Rivals.com, are Maryland out of the Big Ten Conference, fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Wake Forest, the Southeastern Conference’s Vanderbilt, and two Atlantic 10 Conference groups in Rhode Island and VCU.

Farrell is a rising junior who attends the West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Md. On the AAU circuit, he competes with the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals.

A couple of other high-school prospects who suit up for the PSA Cardinals have also received offers from the ‘Cuse. These guys include a pair of 2021 four-star centers, Micawber Etienne and Franck Kepnang.

Yann Farrell could become a member of a special recruiting class for Syracuse.

There is not a lot of intel online about Farrell at this point in time, but he’s also just becoming an upper-classman in the near future, which means his recruitment will likely heat up.

Given all the high-quality programs that have already pledged scholarships to Farrell, it’s clear that he has some terrific skills, even if he’s flying a bit under the radar.

Farrell isn’t the only three-star small forward that Syracuse has offered in the 2022 cycle. The Orange also recently doled out a scholarship offer to 6-foot-6 Chris Bunch, a top-100 player out of De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif.

For the moment, the ‘Cuse has landed one commitment in its 2022 class, and it’s a massive one. Five-star point guard Dior Johnson, a top-15 guy nationally across the 2022 class, will hopefully suit up for Syracuse for one stanza before turning pro.

Johnson, who is transferring from Mayfair High School in Lakewood, Calif., to the powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., has said that he plans to bring other stud recruits with him.

Regarding Farrell, we’ll keep an eye on him moving forward, as he is an intriguing prospect for the Orange. The ‘Cuse 2022 class has the potential to reach stellar status. But first Johnson has to make it to the Hill for a year.
