3. Penn State

Let’s go back in the annals of history as Syracuse reignites a rivalry with one of its oldest foes. Only one team in history has played the Orange more times than Penn State, it’s sad that we don’t get to see this classic matchup any longer.

PSU has played against SU 71 times and leads the all-time series 43 to 23. These two squads haven’t played in seven years and it’s time to make this happen. The Nittany Lions have had a lot more success recently, but this would prove an interesting northeast matchup that the fans could really get into both old and new.

2. Alabama

Do you remember those fans in the stands during the record-breaking 2018 campaign? They chanted “we want Bama” as the Orange reached the mountain top winning 10 games, being nationally ranked, and being this close to joining the College Football Playoff.

While the Crimson Tide have had remarkable success in the 21st century including multiple National Championship titles and the Orange have been trash during that same span. There’s a beef that needs to be settled here.

In history, Alabama and Syracuse have squared off twice with both teams walking away with a victory each.

The Orange shutout the Crimson Tide 23-0 back in 1923. While Alabama returned the favor 20 years later in 1953 pummeling Syracuse 61-6. It’s time for the rubber match to prove who is truly the better football squad!
