UDFA. Syracuse. 44. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Christopher Fredrick. 8. player

Christopher Fredrick may just be the most overlooked Syracuse football alum that is eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft. Throughout this offseason process, he has rarely been mentioned if at all as it pertains to getting drafted.

Fredrick is a feisty highly intelligent player and durable as hell. He played in 43 consecutive games as a starter and recorded 174 tackles, 23 pass deflections, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Fredrick is originally from the Georgia area and ironically the NFL team in town, the Atlanta Falcons, are in need of cornerback help. This is a match made in heaven and perhaps Fredrick can carve out a long term role in Hotlanta!

UDFA. Pick Analysis. Linebacker. Syracuse. Lakiem Williams. 7. player. 36

Lakiem Williams was a JUCO transfer and only spent two years on the hill with the Orange. His first year was all about learning the defense and acclimating to the new atmosphere.

As a senior, he finally got his opportunity to start some games and he made the most of it. Williams started all 12 games at middle linebacker and finished third in the conference in tackles (110).

Williams won’t be a regular starter in the NFL, but he can be a sub-package player that also dominates on special teams. The perfect landing spot would be with his hometown Seattle Seahawks. They would find creative ways to employ him and could get the most out of him.

Syracuse. Sean Riley. 48. UDFA. Pick Analysis. Wide receiver. 6. player

Sean Riley had a phenomenal junior season in which he amassed over 1,400 all-purpose yards. The versatile wide receiver and punt returner was ready to take his game to the next level as a senior in 2019, but that never transpired.

Although it wasn’t all his fault, the Orange couldn’t get things going offensively due to some horrible offensive line play and that stymied the rest of the offense. When Riley is right, he’s a poor man’s, Wes Welker.

Speaking of, Tom Brady is now a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While he now has a brand new dynamic duo at wide receiver with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, the team could use a versatile slot guy that can make things happen. Riley would be the perfect addition to this Tampa offense and could have a Welker like impact with Brady.
