A lot of people think the bubble has burst for Syracuse basketball. Here’s why our Joe Arrigo says not so fast my friends.

Things look very bad in Central New York when it comes to Syracuse’s chances to make the Big Dance. For the past few weeks, I have heard constantly how the Orange are DESPERATE to either beat Duke, Louisville, or Florida State.

Those three games have come and went, and Syracuse swung and missed all 3 times. In fact, two of those three games weren’t even close.

Now members of the Syracuse media and people who cover the Orange have completely written off the Orange and their chances to go dancing with a month still left in the season.

I can’t blame these people for not seeing any chance for the Orange to make the tournament. Syracuse has been pretty disappointing throughout the season.

However, these people must not have looked at how terrible the bubble actually is.

Orange fans are all caught up in the fact that Syracuse doesn’t have any “big wins”. Well, tell me who Richmond has beaten that’s so good? How about USC? Anyone? How about Utah State? Their win over LSU is just SO great, right?

You get my point; none of these bubble teams have any good wins!

If Syracuse can run the table, which is a tall task, but if they can against five teams right on their playing field, they will be that team that is trending up that will catch the eye of all the college basketball fans that haven’t been paying attention all year, and the committee will give them a serious chance to get in because of their history.

A loss to Miami Florida, North Carolina, or Georgia Tech makes this idea a complete waste but don’t write off Syracuse just yet. They still have five games on their schedule that are extremely winnable. Everyone who says there is no chance for the Orange has simply not looked at the resumes of the bubble teams.
