Syracuse football hopes to add a 3-star versatile defensive back on National Signing Day. Here are all the details and what it could mean for 2020.
Ahead of National Signing Day, the Syracuse football team is trying to put the final touches on its 2020 recruiting class.
One name to monitor is Jahad Carter.
The 3-star defensive back has the ability to play either corner or safety at the collegiate level. That versatility would be a welcomed addition to the Orange, especially considering the array of injuries the team endured during the 2019 season.

Jahad Carter is 6-foot, 185 pounds and is listed as an athlete, per 247 Sports.
Carter is a former Virginia Tech commit and the Hokies are still considered the favorite to land the talented defensive back according to the experts.
Despite that Syracuse is trying to secure its fourth commitment for National Signing Day. A pair of quarterbacks (Jacobian Morgan, Dillon Markiewicz) are expected to make their commitment to Syracuse official on Wednesday. In addition, three-star safety Chase Atkinson is also expected to make things official on NSD.
Syracuse is losing a few players from their 2019 secondary including starting safety Evan Foster and versatile role player Antwan Cordy. There’s a strong belief that Carter has the goods to step in and immediately contribute at the next level.
Considering the key losses in the secondary, it seems like this could be a match made in heaven for Syracuse and Jahad Carter.
