Syracuse Basketball plays its 14th game of the season against Notre Dame Saturday afternoon. Inside The Loud House tells you how to be able to watch and listen to the game.

Syracuse basketball had a cupcake schedule for the last couple of games. They played Oakland, North Florida, and then Niagara last Saturday. None of those teams were expected to beat Syracuse this year, but what is surprising is the margin in which Syracuse beat each of them.

The Orange won the first two by only 12 points and the last one by only 14 points! That is not what Orange fans expected coming into this year, but it may, unfortunately, be the reality for this year’s team.

Notre Dame should be a good change of pace for this Syracuse basketball squad after the last few opponents though. North Florida and Oakland had the ability to hit the deep ball pretty well, but the Purple Eagles of Niagara weren’t exactly stellar in that area.

Notre Dame, on the other hand, is much more talented than any of those teams, but much like these three previous teams, they tend to take a lot of threes but don’t make a lot of them, making just 33.8% according to ESPN.com.

This may force the Irish to look more inside for shots if three’s aren’t falling.  That means that as long as the Orange play decent defense inside and don’t miss a gazillion shots of their own like they have done often this year, the Orange should be in this game against the Irish.

So what should we expect?

We should expect Elijah Hughes who has scored, 21, 23, 18, and 19 points respectively over the last four games, according to ESPN.com, to help carry this offense once again. Against a tough veteran team like the Irish, Hughes may once again lead by example by assisting the ball to his teammates Buddy Boeheim and Joe Girard. Both have scored in double figures consistently lately which has really helped the Orange offense.

The Orange will need someone inside to get some rebounds though as the Orange has been consistently out-rebounded of late. The Orange were out-rebounded by both Oakland and North Florida, which is absolutely despicable considering the difference in talent, length, and height. At least they outrebounded Niagara in their last game, so that should give Orange fans some hope going forward.

In addition, Bourama Sidibe has struggled with foul trouble a lot lately against taller and more physical bigs inside. This matchup with less physical bigs should allow him to get more rebounds if he can stay out of foul trouble. More than likely we are going to see either Jesse Edwards or Quincy Guerrier get more minutes inside which will lead to put back buckets on offense and rebounds off of Notre Dame misses on defense.

Either way, this game should be close and should provide a nice test before the real tough ACC stretches to come. According to ESPN.com, they give the Orange a 64.1% chance of winning this game and expect the Orange to win by three points.
