Syracuse is the team we thought they were. They can play well against the small guys but struggle against the big boys. Georgetown, even with seven players that could play, was evidently a big boy.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a road game against a rival and the refs were garbage all game, but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that the Orange came in and played lousy for the most part with almost double the players the Hoyas had available to them.

Due to the loss, the Orange are now 5-5 and face Oakland next. This is a game the Orange should win. If they lose this game at home, the team and its fans should start to realize an NCAA tournament bid ain’t happening this year.

Syracuse has more talent across the board and definitely has the firepower to put Oakland away early. I think Elijah Hughes, Joe Girard, and Buddy Boeheim will have bounce-back games. We also may see nice contributions finally from Bourama Sidibe and Quincy Guerrier down in the post against a team that just doesn’t match up. I see the Orange winning big by the margin of 78-63.
