Syracuse Football: Top 5 Orange players due for a bounce back in 2020
When Syracuse acquired two big-name transfers from big-time programs expectations were through the roof on what they could do in Orange.
Trishton Jackson made program history in 2019 becoming a true No. 1 wide receiver coming from Michigan State and in the process destroyed the record books.
While Abdul Adams who came over from Oklahoma struggled to find his footing.
Adams finished the year with 87 rushing attempts for 336 yards and three touchdowns. It’s also worth noting he was a big special teams player for Syracuse in 2019.
Also, the Syracuse 1,000 yard rushing drought continued for another year. The Orange haven’t had a 1K rusher since 2012 with Jerome Smith. This means it has been seven years and now going on eight years the Orange haven’t delivered on that basic rushing metric.
With Moe Neal moving on the No. 1 lead opportunity is there for the taking in the backfield.
Adams has all the talent in the world to be a true bell cow for the Orange. The only concern from his Sooner days was his fumbling issues.
If that gets cleaned up, Adams can be the reliable man in the backfield to balance the Orange offense moving forward.
