Syracuse enters its last week of the season it cannot clinch bowl eligibility after a crushing loss to Louisville last week. The Orange fought valiantly but not enough to hold on late for the win.

Syracuse now will play at home for the season finale against Wake Forest who has been really good this year. The good news is if Syracuse can win on Senior Day it’ll be a big upset.

The bad news is if the Orange lose they’ll fall to 4-8 instead of 5-7 after an amazing 10 win season last year. In addition, it would also mean the Orange had only one win against a Power Five team all year (Duke) and that would be depressing.

Unfortunately, I just don’t see Syracuse pulling this one out. The Demon Deacons are just too talented on both sides of the ball, and I don’t think the Orange will be able to catch up, even at home on Senior Day.

I think there Orange will lose big and walk away with their heads down heading to an offseason with many questions about the future of Syracuse football and its coaching staff. I predict Syracuse loses to Wake Forest 48-17.
