Syracuse basketball will face off against Penn State in the NIT Season Tip-off tournament. Here are our full crystal ball predictions + top x-factors.

Syracuse basketball saw their four-game winning streak come to a screeching halt vs the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Wednesday evening.

Now the Orange will compete in the consolation bracket for the NIT Season Tip-off Tournament at the Barclays Center. This means that the Orange will face the loser of the Ole Miss vs Penn State game on the other side of the bracket which has already been decided.

The Nittany Lions were dominating the first half vs Ole Miss (43-27) and it seemed like a Penn State victory was a formality. Then the Rebels made a rally for the ages scoring 47 in the second half and ended up winning the game 74-72.

With Ole Miss and Oklahoma State both winning their games, they’ll face off in the championship round at 9:30 p.m. in the second game of the NIT Season Tip-off Tournament. While the Orange and Nittany Lions will square off at 7:00 p.m.

The analytics suggest Penn State is a favorite in this contest (60.3 percent) and was undefeated on the season prior to their loss vs Ole Miss (5-1). While the Orange are 4-2 with their losses coming to Virginia in the season opener and to the Cowboys on Wednesday evening.
