Syracuse comes into this game against Oklahoma State firing on all cylinders. After a game against Bucknell where the Orange scored 97 points and only allowed 47, they should be feeling pretty good about themselves. That’s a margin of victory of 51 points!

Now we all know Oklahoma State is way better than Bucknell so this game should be closer. However, looking at their body of work I’m not too impressed. They barely beat teams like Oral Roberts, Western Michigan, Yale so those are some serious red flags.

On the flip side, Syracuse had beaten every other team (except Virginia) by at least 16 points. That one team that was within 16 points was a good Colgate team who we happened to catch on a bad shooting day.

So Syracuse should be favored in this matchup with the Cowboys. Sure Oklahoma State has the talent inside and a few talented guards, but I think Syracuse’s 2-3 zone and multiple scoring options will be too much for the Cowboys. I see Elijah Hughes putting up at least 18 points and Buddy Boeheim and Joe Girard III having another nice performance to pair with him. Orange win 64-51.
